A: They are mating pairs in the "UHF" connector family. PL-259 is the Male Plug (with the threaded barrel and center pin), and SO-239 is the Female Jack (with the threaded hole and center socket). They are designed to screw together to form a complete connection.

Q2: Can I use this cable for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi?
A: We do not recommend UHF (PL-259/SO-239) connectors for 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi. UHF connectors are not true 50-ohm constant impedance connectors at microwave frequencies and will introduce significant signal loss. For Wi-Fi, please use SMA, RP-SMA, or N-Type cable assemblies.

Q3: Is RG58U suitable for high-power transmission?
A: RG58U is generally rated for up to 300-500 watts at HF frequencies (under 30 MHz). For higher power applications (e.g., 1kW+), we recommend upgrading to RG8X, RG213, or LMR-400 cable assemblies. Contact us for high-power options.
